Type 2 diabetes is a very common, serious disease — but has no major symptoms. It is estimated that 1 in every 3 people with type 2 diabetes do not know that they have the condition. How can you prevent it?
Controllable risk factors for diabetes are being overweight, eating lots of red meat, lack of physical activity and smoking.
The uncontrollable risk factors are age, ethnicity and family history of diabetes.
