Sitting for more than 3 hours a day to a 3.8 percent increase of early death. That’s the report from Brazilian esearchers who analyzed data from more than 54 countries.
Their study adds to a growing body of evidence that too much sitting is a big health threat — and regular exercise may not outweigh the negative effects of prolonged sitting.
It’s important to simply GET UP from your computer every 30 minutes or so.
Excessive sitting is a common feature of modern lifestyles and societies. The researchers however recommend that limiting sitting time to less than three hours a day. It will have the benefit of increasing life expectancy by about two months.
