Your oral health could be the cause of OSA. The dentist is therefore best placed to make an early diagnosis of OSA.

The dentist will be on the lookout for worn out teeth caused by bruxism, a sign of OSA. Teeth grinding causes tooth chipping and wearing out as well as inflamed gums. The dentist will them recommend that you go for a sleep study at a sleep lab to get a proper diagnosis. If oral device therapy is the chosen treatment option, then the dentist will fit the oral device.
