Poor Hydration Associated With Higher BMI

hydrated womanWe’ve heard advice that we should drink water when we feel hungry to limit calorie intake. However, there has been limited scientific information linking water intake to weight control – until now.

A study carried out at the University of Michigan indicates that risk of obesity was 1.59 times greater in individuals who were not adequately hydrated, compared to their hydrated counterparts.

Besides drinking water, you can get fluid from fruits and vegetables. Include them in meals and snacks to improve hydration.
