Male Health is a big issue, as males generally die 7 years younger than females. There are many reversible reasons for that, and screening is a good way of finding out.
Many providers offer screening programmes – mostly low-value tests (such as ECG, general blood tests) at high prices. These tests are very poor predictors of underlying disease, and are generally performed by a nurse rather than a qualified doctor.
We perform tests that look for the highest risks in males:
- Heart disease
- Lung cancer
- Pulmonary fibrosis
- Bowel and prostate cancer
Of course, we also perform tests to establish a baseline – Body Mass Index, ECG, blood pressure, liver and kidney function, cholesterol/lipid profile and allergy tests.
Our approach to male health screening
Our pragmatic approach is comprehensive — involving specific laboratory tests and scans tailored to the patient based on lifestyle, family history, and other factors.
Computerised tomography (CT) scans:
- Coronary artery calcification scans for heart disease.
- Low-dose chest CT scanning for lung disease such as bronchitis, cancer.
- Virtual colonoscopy to diagnose and treat intestinal polyps or cancers, abdominal CT for stomach, liver, kidney.
- Liver function
- Renal profile
- Lipid profile
- Allergy screen
- Electrocardiogram (ECG)
- Body Mass Index (BMI)
- Blood pressure
- Urine analysis
