Foods served in restaurants contain high levels of solid fats, excessive levels of calories, added sugar, and sodium. The restaurant served meals offer lesser nutritional value as compared to home prepared foods.

The critical step is seeking to improve the availability of healthier meals and increasing exposure to healthy food to children. Additionally, restaurants should seek to find healthy ways of improving appeal and taste of food.
