A large study reveals that limiting the consumption of refined carbohydrates and animal fat — and eating healthy fats such as seeds and vegetable oils — will help to control and even prevent type II diabetes. The dietary changes will effectively lead to improved insulin sensitivity and lower blood sugar levels.
The message is that people should not fear healthy fats. The healthy fats are the monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats – and include soybeans, nuts, fish, walnuts, sunflower seeds, flaxseed, and other vegetable oils. Polyunsaturated fats had the most consistent benefits in lowering blood sugar levels.
