Fruit Juices and Smoothies Have ‘Unacceptably High’ Sugar Content

The sugar content of fruit juices and smoothies has been described as unacceptably high by a new research. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends no more than 3-4 tsps of sugar a day for children and 5 tsps for teenagers. However, Yale Health reports that teens consume closer to 34 tsps of added sugar. The sugary drinks end up increasing the cases of obesity and associated health problems.
