Eating This Daily May Decrease Glaucoma Risk

veges 2A new study indicates that consuming green leafy vegetables on a daily basis will lead to decreased risk of glaucoma by 20 percent and even more over numerous years.

Glaucoma develops when fluid increases in the front part of the eye leading to increased pressure which damages the optic nerve by impairing blood circulation. The US National Eye Institute says that glaucoma leads to loss of vision.

According to Jae Kang, the lead author and assistant professor at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, eating green leafy vegetable had a 20 to 30 percent lower risk of glaucoma which is an eye disease.
