Dietary Fiber and Lung Health: Eat Well, Breathe Easy

good foodLung disease is a major problem across the world. A study undertaken at the University of Nebraska Medical Center poured over data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHNES) seeking to find nutritional clues for lung health.

The study of 1,921 people between the ages of 40 and 70 indicated that diet high in fiber content will reduce the likelihood of developing lung disease. The eating of high fiber foods such fruits, grains, and vegetables has proven to have great health benefits. The study revealed that those individuals who consumed the most dietary fiber had the highest lung function owing to the anti-inflammatory properties.
