Could Magnesium Regulate Blood Pressure?

magnesium-vitaminsOne-third of the adult population suffers from high blood pressure — with only half of them having their blood pressure under control. High blood pressure is associated with an increase in the risk of stroke and heart disease.

A new study published in the journal Hypertension shows that magnesium could be potential remedy for high blood pressure. Their findings were that the daily intake of magnesium was linked to a reduction in blood pressure. Elevated blood levels of magnesium were associated with an improvement in blood flow.

Magnesium supplements are a good option for lowering blood pressure in high risk people and high blood pressure patients since they are low-cost and relatively safe.
