Borderline Diabetes: What You Need to Know

Prediabetes is associated with conditions that include abdominal obesity, high blood fat levels, high blood pressure, stroke, and heart disease. Besides all these problems, people with borderline diabetes go on to suffer type II diabetes within 5 years.

The risk factors for prediabetes are being overweight, lack of exercise, smoking, a family history of type II diabetes, high stress levels, and excessive intake of alcohol.

Prediabetes is reversible and the treatment is lifestyle changes — including increasing fruit and vegetable intake and regular exercise.
