Aspirin After Mini-Stroke May Cut Major Stroke Risk

aspirinPeople have a 1000 times greater risk of major stroke right after the occurrence of a mini-stroke. A new study has indicated that people can significantly reduce the risk of major stroke by taking aspirin immediately after a mini-stroke.

The study of 56,000 people revealed that taking aspirin after mini-stroke reduced the risk of a fatal or disabling stroke by 70 to 80 percent over the next few days or weeks.

The findings emphasize the need for doctors to give aspirin immediately after a mini-stroke  to reduce the risk and severity of a full-blown stroke.
