sandalsWith the onset of spring, the sandal season is right round the corner. Learn how to give your feet a seasonal makeover before slipping into open-toed shoes. Care for the feet especially for diabetics is vital.

The feet should be given a thorough check on a daily basis for cuts, sores, cracks and blisters. Diabetics will often not feel them until they are infected due to nerve damage.

Take care of the feet by applying a thin layer of lotion or petroleum jelly to keep the skin of the bottoms and tops of the feet soft and supple. Put talcum powder or cornstarch in between the toes to keep them dry and prevent fungus growth.
