5 Warning Signs of Stroke

Stroke experts say that knowing the sudden and severe warning signs of stroke will help to reduce lifetime disability and to even save a life. The American Stroke Association urges people to be on the lookout for the following signs:

  • Severe headache with no known cause
  • Sudden vision problems in one or both eyes
  • Sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm or leg predominant on one side of the body
  • Sudden difficulty walking or dizziness, loss of balance or problems with coordination
  • Sudden confusion or trouble speaking or understanding speech
